LABORATORY SURVEILLANCE OF SARS-COV-2 IN 17TH WEEK
The Laboratory Department, National Center for Communicable Diseases, Mongolia has tested 1564 specimens collected from persons with a history travel in other COVID-19 affected countries or persons close contact with confirmed COVID-19 patients and 104 samples from patients with ILI and SARI in influenza sentinel surveillance sites between 20 to 26 April, 2020 (17th week). The laboratory test performed by rt RT-PCR for SARS-CoV-2 detection for all specimens and positivity rate was 5(0.3%).

Influenza and other respiratory pathogens detection was performed by multiplex rt PCR for the 104(6.6%) samples from influenza sentinel sites. There were 16(15.4%) specimens were positive for any respiratory pathogens. Of those were 10(62.5%) Rhinovirus, 2(12.5%) Adenovirus, 2(12.5%) Bocavirus, 1(6.25%) seasonal CoV and 1(6.25%) RSV respectively.
