Laboratory surveillance report for Influenza, Influenza-like illnesses (ILI) and COVID-19 As of Epidemiological Weekend 25, 2023
During the first epidemiological week (June 19-25), total of 152 nasopharyngeal swabs were collected at sentinel influenza surveillance sites located in the capital (National Center for Communicable Diseases), western region (Gobi-Altai province) and eastern region (Dornogobi, Khentii province). These samples were analyzed by RT-PCR assay for the presence of influenza viruses and viruses were not detected.

From the multiplex RT-PCR analysis of respiratory pathogens. As for the result Adenovirus, RSV, Parainfluenza, Rhinovirus and MPV were detected in 1 sample (6.3%), 2 samples (12.5%), 3 samples (18.8%), 3 samples (18.8%) and 3 samples (18.8%) respectively.

For SARS-CoV-2 surveillance, RT-PCR was performed on 162 specimens collected from the general population and travelers abroad. SARS-CoV-2 virus was detected in 7 samples (positive rate was 4.3%).
