Medical doctor (graduated in 1971 from the Medical Faculty, Mongolian National Medical University [MNMU]), PhD (1977, Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany), DSc(Med) [1989, Moscow, D.I.Ivanosvsky Institute of Virology, Russian Academy of Medical Sciences], professor (1997), author of more than 770 publications in Mongolian, Russian, English and German, including 38 scientific articles in peer-reviewed international journals, cited totally by 850 researchers (Google Scholar).
 
Prof.P.Nymadawa has worked in 1971-1974 in MNMU as a lecturer, in 1974-1977 in Medical Faculty, Humboldt University, Berlin Germany as a post-graduate student, in in 1978-1987 in National Institute of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology as the head, Virology Department, Scientific Secretary, Deputy Director for Research and Development, in 1987-1990 in MoH, Mongolia as the Deputy Minister and Chief Inspector of Hygiene and Epidemiology, in 1990-1996 and 2000-2004 as Minister of Health, Government of Mongolia, in 1997-2000 as the Social Policy Advisor to the President of Mongolia. He has been elected as a member of Parliament in 2000-2004.
 
He has been awarded by title of: Meritorious Public Health Worker by the President of Mongolia (2007), Outstanding Worker of Health Service of Mongolia from MoH, Mongolia (1996), Outstanding Research Fellow of Mongolia from MoECS, Mongolia (2001), Honorary Doctor, Rangsit University, Thailand (1995), Honorary Doctor, MNMU (2001).
 
Prof.P.Nymadawa has been elected to: Member, New York Academy of Sciences (1984), Member, Mongolian Academy of Sciences (1991), Vice President, 43rd World Health Assembly (1990), President, 44th World Health Assembly (1991), Member, Executive Board, WHO (1992-1995), Member, Board of Directors, GAVI (2002-2004), Founding President, Mongolian Academy of Medical Sciences (since 2005)
